You can find information, emotional support and practical advice, through this site and by calling the helpline. If you’d like to talk with someone face-to-face, you can also call in to the 7th July Assistance Centre, in central London. Assistance is available for everyone affected by the London bombings of the 7th July

How can we help?

The 7 July Assistance Centre was set up in the summer of 2005 specifically to offer support to those who were affected by the 7 July bombings.  Since then the service has expanded to take in fifteen other incidents, listed on the Home Page.

The services provided by the Centre include:-

The Helpline -
The helpline (local rate) will run 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with an answermachine to take the messages out of hours or at weekends.  However, the helpline will be manned during these times when additional support may be necessary, such as anniversaries, Christmas and New Year.  Any messages left on the answermachine will be responded to within office hours.

The helpline is often the first point of contact with the Centre, providing information on available services, giving access to emotional support and answering enquiries regarding specific incidents.

Visits to the Centre

Many people have found that coming to the Centre for a ‘one off’ chat has been of great help.  It can be very reassuring to know that the emotions felt are a natural reaction to a traumatic event, and should further support be required, information can be provided.

One to one counselling

Following an assessment, one to one counselling can be offered to those who wish to examine the effects of a traumatic event, be it a terrorist incident or natural disaster, on their lives.

Counselling is carried out in the Centre, but for those living outside London assistance can be given in finding an appropriate source of support locally.

Complementary Therapy
Services such as Cranio Sacral Therapy, reflexology and massage have proved to be very popular, used by many as an aid in relaxation and the improvement of sleep patterns.

Take a look at our brochure for further information about the service.
